Intellectual Property Rights, Gains and Profits
  • Intellectual Property Rights on any award wholly belong to the host institution of the grant.
  • Gains and Inventions arising from Fellow(s) project are managed by the host institutions. JIARE should be kept informed about. If it results in commercial gains, JIARE should also receive a percentage of it’s net profit.
  • Profits arising from courses and educational programmes sponsored by the Academy should solely be kept within the host institution. Since these types of awards are for educational support with the main aim of enhancing the Fellow(s) academic and research work, the Fellow(s) should be given a larger percentage of the profits (up to 80%) to be used in enhancing the Fellow(s) existing work within the host institution only, and the host institution should take the lower percentage (up to 20%) of the profits to be used in promoting any activity it found necessary.
